No longer updated, but mightily impressive collection of Nietzsche aphorisms with personal comment/ reflection

And just for a laugh

Man, when I was young I shoved my ignorance in people's faces. They beat me with sticks. By the time I was forty my blunt instrument had been honed to a fine cutting point for me. If you hide your ignorance, no one will hit you and you'll never learn.

Thanks for both of these. The first is very interesting and useful, and the second is just hilarious. Obviously, this is just the sort of existential snackbar that us Ubermensch need for those odd moments when we are tempted by the allure of nihilism...

I'll add these links to the Nietzsche section when it's redesigned (which should be soon).

A link to a book which, whatever general interest it may contain (much perhaps), is home to "Nietzsche's philosophy in the Light of Contemporary Events" by Thomas Mann.

At times harshly critical, at others impassioned apology, illuminating throughout, and often quite beautifully worded.  Definitely worth a read.

The collection also contains an address by an Erich Heller: "The Modern German Mind: The Legacy of Nietzsche", which i haven't read yet.

Click on ERIC full text to download.  It's just shy of 30Mb

Thanks for this - your tireless Nietzsche secondary reading search is much appreciated! Thomas Mann is interesting, actually, and always someone I've intended to read...

Nietzsche was also an influence on Herman Hesse, it seems, and Hesse and Mann corresponded apparently.

So, yes! I'll read it when I can (soon).
