Basic Philosophy
« on: 05/05/09 @ 09:30 »
Philosophy can be useful in many senses, but first one has to understand the different terms that are used in philosophy. That is the part i am having trouble with, although i am a keen beginner so any basic terms, knowledge, principles, theories etc. that anyone can provide in terms of beginners philosophy would be appreciated greatly.

     Thank you x

There is a lot in the study resources section of this very site.  One huge advantage is that you can ask questions to the guy who wrote them.

Or more directly:

Theory of knowledge:

Philo of Religion:

Philo of mind:

or in other words...

take the red pill...stay in Wonderland...see how deep the rabbit-hole goes.
Man, when I was young I shoved my ignorance in people's faces. They beat me with sticks. By the time I was forty my blunt instrument had been honed to a fine cutting point for me. If you hide your ignorance, no one will hit you and you'll never learn.

Hey! Now we'll have no pill popping here! Honestly...

Yes, as Sunny says, have a look around, and post any questions or comments you have here. Someone (often me) will answer, and don't worry about asking obvious questions - it turns out, there aren't any in philosophy!
